Investment: Link Cell Therapies
Drug: LNK001
Targets: Advanced and metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and colorectal cancer.
The firm: Link Cell Therapies develops next-generation CAR-T therapies for solid and blood cancers. Its logic-gating technology targets more than one antigen found specifically on cancer cells, enabling safer and more precise treatments.
How LNK001 works: It’s an AND-gated CAR-T therapy targeting CAIX and ENPP3, two antigens that are highly expressed together in most renal cell carcinoma tumors. The therapy requires both antigens to be present before activating its CAR-T response.
How it’s different: LNK001 targets RCC cells expressing both CAIX and ENPP3, aiming to preserve strong antitumor activity while avoiding the healthy-tissue damage associated with targeting CAIX alone.
Trials: LNK001 is now being evaluated in a Phase 1 study at MD Anderson Cancer Center in patients with advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The program represents the first clinical test of Link’s proprietary logic-gating technology. Its second solid tumor program will target colorectal cancer, with a first-in-human study planned for 2027.
